CPN-M not in favor of Koirala as Nepali president

Kathmandu : The Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) Chairman Prachanda Saturday said that the party is not in favor of accepting the Nepali Congress’s proposal calling for Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala to serve as the first president of the country.

Addressing a program in the capital Kathmandu, Prachanda said that the party is not in favor of the NC’s proposal on the basis of Koirala’s old age and deteriorating health.

Meanwhile, the NC Saturday stated that the media reports about the deteriorating health of Koirala have drawn the party’s attention.

Issuing a press statement, the NC mentioned that the doctors engaged in the treatment of the octogenarian PM have said that Koirala’s health was satisfactory.
