Sydney : A massive demonstration of Australians took place in front of US Consulate to Sidney in protest for the recent decision taken at Atlanta´s Court of Appeals against the antiterrorist Cuban Five.
When condemning the decision of Atlanta’s Court of Appeals against the Five, the participants denounced the double standard of US government, unjustly upholding imprisoned the Five for fighting against terrorism plotted and developed in Florida.
At the same time, they indicated, Washington maintains and gives protection to the confessed terrorist Luis Posada Carriles, responsible, among others crimes, for the blowing-up of a civil airplane of Cuba in 1976.
The demonstrators declared they will support the Five until obtaining their freedom and return to home, at the time they will demand US that entry visas be conferred to the relatives of the Cuban prisoners for more than 10 years ago so that they can visit them.
Organizations of solidarity with Cuba emphasized in Canberra the increasing support to the fighters who neutralized terrorist plans forged by contrarrevolucionary sectors settled at the southern US state.
Radio station 2XX in the capital, which dedicates a weekly program to that Cuban matter, commented the cause of the Five to lash the political connotation of the process followed against them and the political bias of the scene where it was developed.
Meanwhile, from Melbourne, Radio station 3CR emitted a program of the local Association of Friendship Australia-Cuba in rejection to the sanction of Atlanta which upheld the verdicts of guilty against the Cubans.
