New Delhi : External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee indicated Monday that the government will announce its stand on the India-US civilian nuclear deal after the meeting June 18 of the joint committee with the left parties.
“This is not the first time we are meeting. We are discussing in the meeting. Let’s see what transpires,” Mukherjee told reporters here after releasing a book on one of the most beautiful temples in Cambodia’s Angkor temple complex.
The book, called “Ta Prohm : a glorious era in Angkor civilisation” has been written by P.K. Kapur, a former Indian envoy to Cambodia, and Sachidanand Sahai, a well-known scholar on Khmer and south-east Asian civilisation.
The Archaeological Survey of India is involved in the conservation of Ta Prohm temple, at the invitation of the Cambodian government.
Mukherjee noted at the ceremony that while Western authors have written several books on south-east asia, Indian scholars should also write more tomes on this area especially due to long historical links.
