Riyadh : The Saudi security authorities have announced the arrest of some 700 people of different nationalities for working against the country’s principles and security.
An official source at the Interior Ministry said Wednesday the security organs, while performing their duty in response to the security developments, resulting from regional and international circumstances, have carried out a number of security operations against the “deviant groups who have been working for the service of the country’s enemies targeting the country’s principles, security, economy and way of life.”
Within the frame of these operations the security men have arrested 701 persons of different nationalities, the official said, noting that 520 have continued to be detained for their relations with the activities of the deviant groups, while 181 have been released.
“These operations have enabled our country and society to prevent so many evils,” the official said.
