Prakash was arrested from the border city of Sialkot in eastern Pakistan’s Punjab province in 1998 and sentenced to ten-year jail on the charges of spying.

Prakash was handed over to the Indian authorities at the Wahga checkpost on the border, News Network International (NNI) news agency reported.

The Indian national was freed from Kot Lakhpat jail in Lahore on July 1, but was brought back to police lock as the Indian authorities had not issued him travel documents, according to the agency.
