Tehran : Iranian children and young artists won ten diplomas of honor in Bulgaria’s International Nova Zagora Painting Contest.
According to a report by the Public Relations Department of the Institute for Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (IIDCYA), the competition was held with a free subject and 559 diplomas of honor were presented to participants from 26 countries.
Maedeh Bahrami, 5.5, from Tehran was the smallest Iranian winner at the event whose painting portrays a scarecrow in a sunflower farm with two crows on its hands.
Melika Minaei, aged 7, Saba Gorji, Parastu Qanbari, 8, Negin Yazdani, 9, Ghazal Goudarzi, 8, Kimia Abbasi, 9, Mah-Monir Havaei, 11, Nazanin Qaranjik, 10 and Mohammad Reza Vakilzadeh, 9 were the other nine recipients of diplomas of honor.
Children participating in the contest mainly focused on Iranian culture, traditions, wedding and nature.
IIDCYA had submitted 15 paintings by its members, of which ten were selected as among the best.
