Gaza : At least six Hamas militants were wounded in a blast that ripped through a Hamas training facility in southern Gaza Strip town of Khan Younis, witnesses and security sources said.
Hamas did not accuse any side of being behind the explosion which residents in the city said it appeared to be a work accident.
The witnesses said the blast occurred inside the camp which is located in a former Israeli settlement in the west of Khan Younis.
The security sources said that the blast also caused interior damage to a building inside the base and caused fire.
According to the medical sources, the six wounded people who received shrapnel were in stable condition.
On Friday, a mysterious blast killed a girl and five Hamas members on the beach and Hamas accused Fatah movement of being implicated. It launched a tense crackdown on president Mahmoud Abbas’ movement in Gaza after the explosion.
Meanwhile, a Fatah spokesman said the recent blast “was a new evidence reflecting the crisis that Hamas experience in Gaza and another proof that Friday blast was a result of a matter inside Hamas.”
“This blast occurred in an interrogation facility where Hamas holds tens of Fatah members and supporters,” said the spokesman, Fehmi al-Za’arier, referring to the detainees who Hamas seized in the recent ongoing crackdown.
