Islamabad : Pakistan on Thursday condemned the bomb explosion outside its consulate in western Afghanistan, urging the Afghan government to take responsibility seriously.
The explosion occurred on Thursday morning when some one threw an explosive device towards the consulate of Pakistan in Pakistan’s Herat, wounding at least one police.
“The government of Pakistan holds the government of Afghanistan responsible for the safety and security of its personnel in its embassy in Kabul and consulates in Herat, Kandhar, Jalalabad and Mazar-e-Sharif,” said a press release from Pakistan foreign ministry.
“We hope that the government of Afghanistan will take its responsibility seriously,” it said.
Pakistan’s foreign ministry has summoned the Afghan ambassador in Pakistan to convey concerns, according to the press release.
Early this month, a deadly bomb attack against Indian embassy in Afghan capital Kabul claimed the lives of 41 persons, including two Indians, and injured more than 140 others including two diplomats of the embassy.
