The event will be sponsorsed by the Arab League Secretary-General, the Egyptian Tourism Minister, the Arab Tourism Organisation, and an international e-tourism organisation.

Forum Rapporteur and International Union of Tourism (IUT) Regional Director Hossam Darwish told reporters Wednesday this is an attempt to create more active tourism traffic within the Arab region as e-tourism is gaining more and more ground as a main promotion tool in the sector today.

He noted this forum is the first accomplishment that follows an agreement between the IUT and the Arab Tourism Organisation. It would be a source for reference for workers in the field of e-tourism worldwide and would help better regulate and coordinate the sector.

Some 15 experts are to give lectures and workshops would be given for the benefit of travel agents, and Egyptian and Arab hotels and their staff.

The objective is to incorporate Arab tourism bodies into international blocs and into the IUT to offer better and more varied service and to ensure workers in the field honour the code of ethics of the union, Darwish said.
