Istanbul : Security sources confirmed that three blasts occurred Thursday morning, close to the Uskudar municipality near the Asian district of Istanbul.
Municipal Chief Mehmet Caskir said one blast occurred in a garbage container, while the other two blasts shook the burial ground close to the municipality building.
The blasts caused minimal damage to the building and some cars parked in the vicinity, he said, adding that police were now searching for two individuals seen escaping the scene of the blast on a motorbike.
Earlier today, it was reported that a blast shook the municipality building, and police said one person was severely injured in the explosion, meant to make a large bang and cause panic more than inflict actual damage.
