Sanaa : President Ali Abdullah Saleh stressed here that it was important to increase efforts to achieve Palestinian unity between Hamas and Fatah movements for the sake of Palestine’s dream of establishing an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
Saleh’s statement on Saturday came during his meeting with Palestinian Prime Minister Dr. Salam Fayyad who conveyed to the President the latest developments occurring in the Palestinian territories.
Meanwhile, the Yemeni-Palestinian supreme committee began its sessions here today with the meeting headed by Fayyad and his Yemeni counterpart Ali Mohammad Ma’ajor.
The meeting would focus on means to bolster bilateral relations and would also tap on developments in the region and the world.
Ma’ajor affirmed that Yemen is going to call for increasing international support for Palestinians, pressurring Israel to follow up on the roadmap plan and the Arab Middle East peace initiative.
