The police said Mohammad Masroor, a trained agent of the Pakistan’s external intelligence agency, was arrested late Tuesday night from the Rupaidiha locality of Bahraich town, 270 km from here.

During his interrogation Mansoor revealed the identity of another ISI agent, Faiyaz Ahmed Mir, who was then arrested near Ghaziabad railway station early Wednesday.

“Masroor was living in the cantonment locality of Lucknow under the fake identity of Rakesh Chaudhary and was working as a glass cutter at a prominent showroom,” Additional Director General of Police (Crime, Law and Order) Brijlal told reporters.

The police recovered documents of the Indian Army, photographs of the Kanpur Ordinance Factory, coded maps of important places of the state capital, a diary containing international phone numbers and names, and some other vital documents from him, the official added.

“During interrogation, he also revealed that another trained militant (Mir) will be reaching Ghaziabad today (Wednesday) and he had received directions to provide logistic support to him,” said Brijlal.

“Mir is a native of Muzaffarabad district of Pakistan and besides recovering identity cards of India and Pakistan, we also seized arms and ammunition from him,” the police officer added.

The police recovered ammonium nitrate, RDX, a Chinese make pistol and two loaded magazines from Mir’s possession.
