Shimla : Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal Wednesday wrote to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, demanding more direct-to-home (DTH) receiver sets for tribal areas of the state.
Thanking the prime minister for providing over 9,000 DTH sets in the tribal district of Kinnaur, Dhumal urged him to sanction 20,000 more sets in order to fulfil the additional demand of Kinnaur and other tribal areas of Lahual, Spiti and Bharmour subdivision of Chamba, an official statement said.
With the installation of more DTH sets in these remote areas, every household would have access to all the Doordarshan and All India Radio channels, he said.
