Many protesters, who were participating in the rally organised to pay tribute to slain Hurriyat leader Sheikh Abdul Aziz, barged into the house of Lone, known as Papa Kishtwari.

After asking those inside the house to come out, the mob ransacked and set ablaze properties including furniture and other valuables and smashed windowpanes and doors of the house in this town, 16 km from Jammu and Kashmir summer capital Srinagar.

Lone, once a dreaded counter insurgent, is in jail undergoing trial in a murder case.

Thousands of Hurriyat supporters participated in the rally in Pampore where separatist leaders urged the people not to resort to stone pelting at the police and paramilitary troopers inviting their ire.
