Pak-India judicial committee meets Pak prisoners in Jaipur jail

New Delhi : Members of Pak-India Judicial Committee on Prisoners met Pakistani prisoners in Jaipur Central jail on Thursday. Pakistan chapter of the committee comprising justice Fazal Karim, Justice Mian Muhammad Ajmal, Justice Abdul Qadeer Chaudhry and Justice Nasir Aslam Zahid along with three Indian judges met six Pakistan prisoners to know their status and condition, APP reported.

Pakistani judges are in India for the last four days to know details about the prisoners including prison terms.

Earlier, they met prisoners in Amritsar Central jail and Tihar jail in Indian capital.

A meeting of the committee will be held here on Friday and review the outcome of the visit. A joint statement is also expected to be issued. Pakistan members of judicial team have asked Indian side to make arrangement for their meeting with all Pakistani prisoners in India.

On the occasion of visit of Indian chapter of the committee to Pakistan in June this year, the members met all Indian prisoners in Pakistani jails in different cities.

Pak-India Judicial Committee on Prisoners was set up in January last year.

The Committee held its first meeting in February this year in New Delhi
