Gaza : Israel on Monday released nearly 200 Palestinian prisoners in line with a previously reached understanding with the Palestinian authority of President Mahmoud Abbas.
Palestinian Television said buses boarding 198 released prisoners moved from the Israeli-manned checkpoint of Beitunya in the West Bank, in the direction of Abbas’ headquarters in the town of Ramallah.
Thousands of cheering people are awaiting the returning prisoners at the compound of the main building of the Palestinian authority.
