Delivering the keynote address at a seminar ‘Cyber War: Has it Begun’ organised by Cyber Society of India, Talwant Singh said: “Till date, we don’t have an extradition treaty with any country for a cyber criminal to be brought to India.”

He said the country should take sufficient steps to protect its ‘cyber boundaries’ though it is not defined like its physical boundary.

According to Singh, the government is yet to notify the setting up of an infrastructure to protect vital data on national security.

He said the laws – at national and international levels – have not matched up with the pace of the technical capability of an adversary.

Welcoming the gathering, K. Srinivasan, chairman of the Cyber Society of India said that steps are to be taken to make people use the country’s own Bharat Operating System Solution (BOSS) the computer operating software.
