However, Warjri who skipped the ongoing winter assembly session (which started Friday) for the second time on a row, told IANS that she will not take back her resignation.

The first woman home minister submitted her resignation late Thursday, owning moral responsibility for the prevailing law and order situation in Garo Hills where many civilians as well as security personnel have been killed.

Asked if there was any pressure from him that forced Warjri to resign, Sangma said: “Why should you presume like that when I am very satisfied about her contribution as a minister and a cabinet colleague and particularly, a cabinet colleague holding important portfolio.

Moreover, the chief minister doesn’t allocates the portfolio of home unless he has real confidence in someone, he added.

On the demand of Leader of Opposition Donkupar Roy for his resignation over the prevailing law and order situation in Garo Hills, Sangma said: “They (opposition parties) are the missing the focus. Does he (Roy) even have the magic wand to solve the problem (militancy).”
