Sana’a : Chairman of Shuora Council, head of Association of Senates, Shura and Equivalent Councils of Africa and the Arab World, Abdul-Aziz Abdul-Gani left for Addis Ababa on Dec 7 2007 in a several-day official visit to Ethiopia.
Upon his departure, Abdul-Ghani made clear that his visit to Ethiopia is in response
to an invitation of the Ethiopian Federal Council to attend ceremonies of the national day of the Ethiopian people that will be next Saturday.
He added that the visit comes within the strong Yemeni-Ethiopian ties and Sana’a Forum for cooperation, saying that he would meet officials in the Ethiopian Parliament over bilateral relations and issues of common concern.
Abdul-Gani said that he would leave then for Negara to head the first meeting of the political committee for well efforts that was formed in the second meeting of the association last May.
The committee is one the tools of the association to support efforts of peace and stability in the Arab and African regions especially in Palestine, Iraq, Darfur and Somalia, he said.
Abdul-Gani added that the meeting would also discuss papers over future activities of the association.
