Peace activist Faisal leads relief work for Jamia flood victims

New Delhi: In the leadership of noted peace and social activist Faisal Khan, a relief work was launched yesterday for the Yamuna flood victims in Jamia Nagar area of South Delhi. More than 150 poor families, who were living on the bank of Yamuna, are now homeless due to the flood.

Under the joint initiative of Yuva Koshish, NAPM and Asha Parivar, Khan led a team of 20 volunteers and approached the victims now living in tents in Zakir Nagar and Batla House. They distributed about 200 packets of food among the victims. Besides, two doctors accompanying the team, visited children and sick people in the camps.

Besides Gandhian social activist Kaushal Kumar, other volunteers included: Gufran Khan, Faheem Khan, Shah Alam, Fahad Hasan, Arif Ahmed, Haroon Rasheed, Maaz Khan, Shivani Singh, Nausheen Khan, Shariq Haider Nqvi, Narendr Sawanria, Faiz Ahmed and Neeraj Kumar.
