They Monday called on Lt. Gen. Susheel Gupta, deputy chief of the Indian Army.

During their interaction with Gupta, most of them stated that they had travelled by train for the first time in their lives, said a spokesman of the Indian Army.

“They were very happy to see various developmental activities such as the Metro Rail and places of historical interest. They look forward to visiting the Taj Mahal at Agra,” the spokesman added.

In his brief address, Gupta advised the children to work for the national cause, the spokesman said.

The 25 children are aged 13-16 and belong to the Bakarwal tribe that rears sheep and goats for a livelihood.
