New Delhi : Marking the International Human Rights day, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Rajnath Singh Monday reminded party workers of alleged rights violations by communists across the world, especially in the Left-ruled West Bengal and Kerala.
He recalled alleged atrocities committed by the communists on people of Eastern Europe during the Cold War phase and on Chinese dissidents in the Tiananmen Square in 1989.
“Nobody here (in Delhi) has a clear idea how the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) functions and its attitude towards the nationalist forces (the BJP and allies). But the ugly face of the CPI-M was exposed fully in Nandigram, West Bengal,” he said.
He promised all material help to BJP supporters in Kerala who had been wounded in attacks allegedly by the CPI-M cadres in recent weeks and announced an additional ex gratia relief of Rs.25,000 to each of them.
