Bangalore : Raj Randhawa, a star in the making, hit the right shot but not quite at the right time. He aced the par-three eighth hole on the final day here Sunday, but missed out on Audi TT Coupe, which was on offer on the Pro-Am day of the Global Green Bangalore Open.
There was no such offer for the next four days, but the sponsors did reward him for that unique shot with a Rs.20,000 cheque.
Raj, cousin of the more famous Jyoti Randhawa, is playing in his rookie year after finishing second in the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) Qualifying School, ended in a tie for 24th with a total of mix-over 294. He had rounds of 73, 72, 78 and 71. His tournament was essentially spoilt by a poor third round, where had a quadruple bogey on par-4 17th hole.
The tournament was won by Rahul Ganapathy (71) with a total of five-under 283 with Arjun Singh (73), Shamim Khan (71) and Gaganjeet Bhullar (73) were tied for second at four-under 284.
