Kuwait : Over 16 years after Saddam’s invasion and occupation of Kuwait, the fate of most of the 378 Kuwaiti and other Prisoners of War (POWs) is still unknown.
The POWs were snatched from Kuwait’s streets and homes by the Iraqi forces when they invaded the country on Aug 2, 1990.
All calls and appeals by Kuwait and other states, as well as world organizations, have so far failed to establish their whereabouts or ascertain their fate.
Since the liberation of Kuwait, families of POWs have been suffering and yearning to lay the remains of their loved ones to rest.
