Melbourne : India captain Anil Kumble picked up five wickets for 84 runs to reduce Australia for 337 for nine at close of play on the opening day of the Boxing Day Test match here Wednesday.
Opening batsman Matthew Hayden was the top scorer for Australia with his 124 and his partner Phil Jacques made 66. It was Kumble’s 10th five-wicket haul against Australia.
