Thiruvananthapuram : Former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam arrived here Thursday to return to his favourite work place at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), where he worked for more than two decades.
Kalam will address the students of the newly started Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), a state of the art space institute at the ISRO Centre here, Friday.
The institute was opened last month at the premises of the ISRO also called the Vikram Sarabahi Space Centre (VSSC). Kalam worked here since its inception in the 1960s till 1982.
During his five-year tenure as president, Kalam never missed an opportunity to make a visit to the centre, every time he arrived here.
Now all eyes are on Kalam to see whether he would join as a faculty member at the institute.
Kalam came on a regular passenger flight from Delhi and would return Friday after addressing the students.
