Mottaki confers with African, C. Asian counterparts

United Nations : Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki discussed major regional and international developments in separate meetings with his counterparts from Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Namibia and Nairobi on Wednesday.

The meetings were held prior to Mottaki’s departure from New York for Tehran later on the day and on the sidelines of the 62nd UN General Assembly.

In his talks with Vartan Oskanian of Armenia, Mottaki said Tehran-Yerevan economic agreements were progressing in a positive way.

Mottaki also breifed Oskanian on the latest developments regarding Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities as well as Tehran’s agreement with the UN nuclear watchdog for further cooperation.

Meanwhile, in his talks with Ednan Karabayev of Kyrgyzstan, the two ministers stressed that all grounds were prepared for promotion of Tehran-Bishkek ties particularly in the field of economic cooperation.

Mottaki also discussed ways to promote bilateral cooperation at the international scenes in his meetings with foreign ministers of Nairobi and Namibia.
