Islamabad : The Senate and National Assembly sessions of Pakistan started on Saturday morning, local TV channel DAWN NEWS reported.
The parliamentarians of the opposition People’s Party attended the session, according to DAWN NEWS.
The presidential poll is scheduled to start from 10 a.m. (GMT0500) and last till 3 p.m. (GMT1000).
More than 200 members of National and Provincial Assemblies belonging to the opposition alliance All Parties Democratic Parties have resigned.
A total of five candidates including President Pervez Musharraf will contest the presidential elections.
