27 houses, mosque among 63 structures gutted in Kashmir valley

Srinagar): Fire continues to wreak havoc in the state. At least 63 structures including twenty-seven residential houses and a mosque were gutted in various fire incidents across Kashmir Valley, since last 24 hours.

A police spokesman said that fire broke out at village Suddu Kilshehi in Tulail, Gurez in which 25 residential houses and 25 Cowsheds were gutted.

The fire, which reportedly started from a house, spread to the entire Mohalla creating havoc in the locality. Police said that the cause of fire was being ascertained.

Fire broke out in the market of Cheer Kote, falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Sogam, Kupwara in which two residential houses, eight shops and a cowshed gutted, an official spokesman told News Agency of Kashmir.

The spokesman added that two persons also received burn injuries in the incident.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident fire broke out in the feeding stock store out side Broliss Breeding Project of animal Husbandry Department Hariparbat, Srinagar. Cause of fire is being ascertained.

Electric short circuit caused fire in joint Kothar of Abdul Rehman and Ghulam Mohammed of Lalpora Budgam.

Sources told NAK that the Kothar was gutted completely. However, no loss of life and injuries was reported in the incident.
