Baghdad : Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad agreed to combat the “terrorist activities” of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK).
A press release issued by Al-Maliki’s office on Sunday said the Iraqi Prime Minister and the Iranian President discussed the Iraqi-Turkish conflict in a phone call Saturday evening.
The leaders agreed that PKK’s activities are harming the interests of Iraq, Turkey, and Iran, and that military action is not the only solution for the conflict.
Iraq has northern borders with both Turkey and Iran. Some of its mountainous areas are occupied by Kurdish, Iranian, and Turkish rebels.
