BHEL Bhopal unit would exceed target, claims ED

Bhopal : RK Singh, Executive Director of Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited, (BHEL), Bhopal unit has claimed that Bhopal unit would not only achieve the target for the fiscal year 2007-08, but rather it would exceed the target with such an excellent team of workers, supervisors and workers.

Singh was addressing the BHEL, Bhopal unit’s Management Employee Communication Meeting, MECOM), here today at Cultural Hall to apprise the employees with the strategy adopted by the Unit to meet its target and future plans.

MC Prasad, General Manager (HR); Prabhat Kumar, General Manager (P&D), General Managers, Executives and Employees were present on this occasion.

While congratulating the employees for setting new benchmarks in production, Singh appreciated the unparallel commitment and unique work culture of the employees at Bhopal Unit. He said that Bhopal Unit would not only achieve the target for the fiscal year 2007-08, but rather it would exceed the target with such an excellent team of workers, supervisors and workers.

Referring to the ambitious target of additional 78000 MW power during the present 11th Five Year plan of the Government of India, he motivated the employees to work whole-heartedly to meet this target. Welcoming the move to establish BHEL-NTPC Joint Venture, he said that this would turn to be a milestone in the Power Sector.

Earlier, Prasad in his welcome address highlighted the objectives of the MECOM. He said that it is such a forum which provides equal opportunity to the workers and the Management to present their views. On the one hand, management gets first hand information from the employees and on the other the employees are exposed to the strategies and future plans of the company.

Prabhat Kumar made a presentation on the turnover of the Unit till August,2007. He informed that the Unit has achieved a record turnover of Rs. 701 crores which is almost 25 per cent of the present year target. Besides, the Unit has also made a record Cash Collection of more than Rs. 1000 crores by the end of August. He also gave inputs about the CII EXIM Award and said how the Unit is preparing for it.

VK Jain , Addl. General Manager (HRDC) conducted the programme and made a presentation.
