The sources said that the post, which was hit by one missile, belongs to the Sallah el-Dein Brigades, the armed wing of the Popular Resistance Committees (PRC) in northern Gaza. No injuries were reported.

Israel decided earlier Wednesday to consider the Gaza Strip area as a hostile entity, after Palestinian militant groups increased in the past few weeks firing homemade rockets at Israeli communities in southern Israel.

The Islamic Resistance Movement, or Hamas, took control of the Gaza Strip in mid June, following fierce clashes with President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah movement and his security forces.

Hamas, which is considered by Europe and the United States as a terrorist organization, rejected the Israeli cabinet’s decision of considering Gaza a hostile entity.

“This is an indication that Israel wants to escalate military actions against Gaza. The decision is a collective punishment to the Palestinians and we started contacts to stop Israel executing its plan,” Hamas-led deposed government said.
