Ranchi : The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) proposes to introduce a management course at the higher secondary level to help school students prepare for a professional degree course later.
“We plan to introduce financial marketing management course in higher secondary schools. The course will be known as intermediate in business administration (IBA),” said Shaligram Yadav, chairman of the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC).
The JAC proposal will be sent to state government for final approval. If the state human resources department accepts the proposal the course will be introduced from the 2008 academic year.
The two-year course will include introduction to financial markets, business accounting, financial markets, mutual funds, and commodities markets. Business process outsourcing skills will also be imparted to the students as part of the course.
Yadav admitted that infrastructure would be a bottleneck in introducing the new course.
“The course will be introduced only in select schools and college which have proper infrastructure and facilities,” he said.
