In a statement sent to reporters, Sami Abu Zuhri, Hamas spokesman in Gaza, called on President Mahmoud Abbas to seriously preview his positions towards Israel.

“The position of Abbas and the Palestinian (National) Authority is really negative towards what is happening in Gaza,” he said, adding that “it is just a collusion with Israel.”

Abu Zuhri also urged the PNA “to revaluate its position,” as “the Palestinians can’t handle anymore watching the images of Palestinian meetings with the Israeli occupation leaders and the preparations for the fall summit.”

On Wednesday and early Thursday, the Israeli army carried out a series of air and ground strikes on militant groups in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip, killing 12 and wounded over 10 others.

Israel said the people killed in the strikes were behind those launching homemade rockets from the Gaza Strip at Israeli towns and communities.

Meanwhile, Islamic Jihad armed wing said in a statement that “while the Israeli tanks were rolling into northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Hanoun on Wednesday, our militants fired rockets at southern Israel.”
