Baghdad : Iraqi authorities have aborted a planned bombing attack against vital dams northwest of the capital, the Iraqi Ministry of Defence said.
The ministry said in a statement Wednesday that Iraqi troops killed two Aghanias, who were riding a truck packed with explosives on Tuesday.
The pair intended to ram the truck into water dams in the Al-Tharthar basin northwest of the capital.
The area used to be a hotbed for Al-Qaeda activists.
