The state’s main opposition Congress party organised the rally at Jagdalpur and party officials said it was a huge success.

“Rally was a big hit, crowd gathering was beyond our expectations. We briefed them what the central government did for the poor tribal masses and how the state’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government ditched them,” Ramesh Warlyani, state Congress spokesman and general secretary, told IANS.

The Congress is holding a series of rallies for farmers and tribals across the state to garner their support in a bid to return to power in November elections this year.
