Baghdad : Gunmen shot dead a senior Interior Ministry officer in a drive-by shooting on a highway in eastern Baghdad on Saturday, a ministry source said.” Unidentified armed men in a car showered Brigadier Saad Rizzoqi with bullets while he was driving his car in the afternoon on the Muhammad al-Qassim Highway in Zaiyouna neighborhood,” the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
The incident was the second in the day after gunmen assassinated Yousif Adel, the priest of the Saint Peter’s Churchin front of his house in Karrada neighborhood in central the capital.
