Sanaa : A big explosion was heard Sunday evening near a complex housing US citizens in the Yemeni capital Sanaa, eyewitnesses said.
A security official, who spoke on condition on anonymity, said that the explosion was caused by three rocket-propelled grenades fired on the residential complex.
The blast caused no casualties but shattered glass in one of the buildings. Security was tightened in the area.
The security official said that the terrorist network Al Qaeda was likely to be behind the blast, which was very similar to the attack in March on the US embassy in Sanaa.
An attack on the embassy with two bombs killed a Yemeni police officer dead and wounded seven people March 18.
