Moscow : Russian Vice President Alexandr Zhukov Wednesday ratified in Beijing his country´s total rejection to a boycott summoned by various countries and organizations against the 2008 Olympic Games.
“It is unacceptable to mix politics with sports,” said the Russian government top official.
According to Moscows Echo radio station, Zhukov made clear that the plans to obstruct the Olympic Games are incompatible with Olympic principles.
The vice president heads a Russian delegation that is attending the 16th General Assembly of the National Olympic Committees.
The welcome recently given to the international messenger of Olympic Torch in Saint Petersburg is an example of the Russian Federation support of China as Olympic host.
