The clash broke out on Wednesday in Pakistan’s Kurram tribal agency on the Afghan border.

The tribesmen were attacking each other’s positions with light and heavy weaponry like rocket launchers, mortar and missiles, Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) said.

Kurram is one of the seven tribal agencies in Pakistan’s semi-autonomous Federally Administered Tribal Area (FATA). It has seen multiple sectarian clashes in the past years.

The FATA is also believed to be a haven for al-Qaeda or Taliban-linked militants.

A week ago, a military convoy was attacked in the Kurram in which two security personnel were killed and the situation further deteriorated after this incident.
