Kuwait : Seminars and internet blog sites have proven some of the most favored means for promoting ideas and slogans of the nominees for the local parliamentary polls due on the 17th of next month.
Hamed Al-Ansari, a resident of the second constituency, said in remarks to KUNA that potential voters have depened on diverse means to gather information about the candidates, such as personal knowledge, newspapers, the internet, seminars and fliers.
As to his personal basis for assessing the nominee, Al-Ansari says he focuses on patriorism, the level of education and the manifestos.
Sara Al-Hilal says the seminars and rallies have become the basic source for her to get acquainted with the personalities and thoughts of the candidates, and indicates that she will devote her ballot papers to new runners.
But Shemlan A-Bahar believes that the diwanias are the best source of information about the would-be MPs, and notes that he favors those of liberal beliefs and keenness on the higher national interests.
Ahmad Al-Dihani believes that the advertisments, the news broadcasts and the diwanias are the best means for the promotion of the nominees, but the fellow national, Ahmad Al-Hinidi, says he seeks to know about the nominees through the family and the friends, favoring those would campaign with economic reform slogans.
Rasha Al-Adsani says the internet and the seminars are her top means to get acquainted with the nominees and indicates that she prefers to vote for the young.
The polls will be held on the basis of five constituencies for the first time. The previous elections had been held on the basis of 25 constituencies.
Candidates have already begun their campaigns through the press and the media.
