Pakistani city on alert of Qaeda suicide bombers

Islamabad : Pakistan’s eastern Lahore city has been put on high alert after intelligence reports on Friday of infiltration by Al-Qaeda suicide bombers in the city, new hot target of militants.

Pakistan Federal Interior Ministry has received intelligence reports that two Arab and three Afghan suicide bombers have entered into Lahore, about 370 kilometers southeast of Islamabad.

Ministry sources told KUNA that the bombers could target government installations and security personnel.

They said security in the city has been given red alert and extra police deployment made at all important points and buildings.

In more than four suicide attacks in Lahore since January more than fifty persons have been killed and near a hundred others wounded.

In all attacks, the target of militants was security forces.
