UN General Assembly Reforms Likely

United Nations : The president of the UN General Assembly Srgjan Kerim presented a report with recommendations on reforms of the Security Council before the end of his mandate, official sources informed.

In a meeting with the press the former foreign minister of Macedonia referred to consultations with working groups on changing the maximum UN body, a priority of the 62nd period he is presiding over.

The reforms of the Security Council, which has five permanent seats and 10 not permanent seats, has been at the center of debates in the General Assembly, whose members complain of unequal representation of the Third World.

It also referred to an analysis of the process of renovation of administrative work of that world organization and willingness of countries to participate in a constructive manner to promote these changes.
