Tehran : President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Friday highlighted capability of Iranian experts in oil industry to thwart the international pressures on Iran.
The president made the remarks on the sidelines of his visit to the 13th International Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals Exhibition where he has closely become familiar with latest achievements of the industry.
The five-day exhibition was inaugurated last Wednesday in Tehran with the participation of 860 domestic and over 500 active foreign oil companies from 30 countries including Belgium, China, France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Russia, Romania, South Korea, Spain, the UAE, Poland, Holland, Qatar, Switzerland, Turkey, Bahrain, Britain, Japan, Belarus, Finland, Ukraine, India, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Greece, Canada, Australia, and the US.
Appreciating efforts made by experts and officials of Iran’s oil industry, President Ahmadinejad referred to the industry as a source of national pride and honor.
All products of Iran’s oil industry should be presented to the international markets, stressed the president.
Referring to the mounting international pressures against Iran for its peaceful nuclear activities, President Ahmadinejad said those pressures have led the country to more progress and success.
“Iranian nation has changed all threats and pressures to a chance for more progress,” he said.
Addressing Western powers who made various efforts to impose different pressures on Iran, the president added, “We should tell them increase those pressures as they actually result in more flourishing of the Iranian people.”
Iranians have proved that they do not need those countries who believed without their help no other world states could survive, the president added.
The United States and its allies have forced the United Nations Security Council to pass three sets of sanctions on Iran for its peaceful nuclear activities.
