Gaza : Seven Palestinians were killed during overnight and predawn Israeli air strikes on northern Gaza Strip and on southeast Gaza city, hospital officials said Sunday. The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas)’s armed wing, al-Qassam Brigades, said in a statement that seven militants were killed in three separate Israeli air strikes on the Gaza Strip during Saturday and Sunday predawn.
Mo’aweya Hassanein, chief of emergency and ambulance services in the Palestinian health ministry told reporters that a Palestinian young man was killed in a fresh Israeli air strike on southeast Gaza City Zeitoon neighborhood.
At round midnight a second Hamas militant was killed in an Israeli air strike on eastern Jabalia town in northern Gaza Strip, the movement’s armed wing said in a statement.
On Saturday night, four Hamas militants were killed and five wounded in an Israeli air strike on northern Gaza Strip town of Jabalia, the movement and medical sources said.
Hassanein said one Palestinian who was critically wounded on Saturday night’s air strike on northern Gaza Strip, died on Sunday morning of his sustained wounds, and this raises the death toll to seven people killed.
On Saturday, Hamas armed wing claimed responsibility for an armed attack carried out on Kerem Shalom border crossing between southern Gaza Strip and Israel. Three Hamas militants were killed and 13 Israeli soldiers wounded.
