New Delhi : Three Indian rowers have qualified for this year’s Olympics after winning the qualifying tournament in Beijing Sunday.
Bajrang Lal won the Open Singles Scull event and booked his Beijing ticket while Manjeet Singh and Devender Kumar qualified in the Light Weight Doubles Scull event.
“It is the best ever result we have achieved in Olympic qualifiers. In Athens and Sydney just one boat from India qualified,” Rowing Federation of India (RFI) president C. P. Singh Deo said.
The triumphant rowers will return to India Monday.
