By Xinhua,
Tehran : Deputy Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Olli Heinonen has arrived in Tehran for more talks over Tehran’s nuclear program, Iran’s Press TV satellite channel reported on Monday.
Heinonen is in Tehran once again to follow up on the talks he held with Iranian officials during a two-day official visit last week, the report said.
A well-informed source told Iran’s ISNA news agency on Sunday that the talks were expected to focus on “bilateral cooperation, the agency’s June report on Iran’s nuclear program and ways to resolve the differences of opinions between the two sides over the purported studies.”
Also on Sunday, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Mohammad-Ali Hosseini said Tehran was ready to talk with the IAEA if it intends to raise a new topic, stressing that Iran had already cleared up the six remaining issues with the UN nuclear watchdog.
The United States and its allies have accused Iran of trying to develop nuclear weapons under the cover of a civilian nuclear program. Iran has denied the charges and insisted that its nuclear program is only for peaceful purposes.
