Candidate in the first constituency Saleh Al-Mesbah in a press statement said there is a need for more care to the role media plays in shaping society’s moral and ethical fabric. It could both preserve society’s own morality system or weaken it with introduction of detrimental elements through poorly-calculated exposure to other cultures, he said.

The media consultant noted the wide spread of what is termed social security and stability media, which aims to preserve a society’s identity and unity, as well as morale and positive outlook, to hike productivity. This does not exclude inspiration from others’ experience, he also noted, but means we adapt what we import and look forward as we do so.

The first constituency covers 19 residential areas of 65,741 voters, including 35,671 women.

In the second constituency, candidates Khalid bin Eisa and Abdellatif Al-Amiri said they would focus on issues relating to implementation of Islamic jurisprudence (Sharia) and reform, and also hope to help counter tension and divide within the NA and between the NA and government.

They added they would also address issues of reform such as service in official post, polls and political rights and practices, impediments to overall development and improvement of services in the fields of education and health, and recent concerns such as hikes in prices of goods and services and environment issues.

The second constituency covers 13 residential areas of 41,365 voters, including 22,103 women.

In the third constituency, Dr. Nasser Al-Sane’ and Abdelaziz Al-Shaiji are saying they are to focus on the five main topics of health care, education, jobs, housing, and planning for the future. There is not enough stress or action on these fronts on the part of the government, Al-Sane said. Al-Shaiji meanwhile said failure in human development is the state’s biggest concern and cause of failure in other ventures, citing recent reports concerning corruption and transparency.

In the same constituency, Ahmad Al-Mulaifi called for an all-inclusive approach and view when planning the state’s strategies. He said lack of foresight is the bane which brings deterioration of services on many fronts despite the strong finances the state is blessed with.

Also in the same constituency, candidate Ali Al-Khalaf was promising to stand behind women’s political rights. He said every family in Kuwait is affected by the problems facing divorcees, widows, and those married to non-Kuwaitis. He also stressed he is to stress on the principle of dialogue, saying the dissolved parliament failed miserably in this respect.

The third constituency covers 15 residential areas with 58,674 voters, including 33,056 women.
