Ramallah : Israeli forces arrested dozens of Palestinians last night and early Tuesday in raids across the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
Palestinian security sources said that nine of the detainees were taken from the West Bank city of Nablus and the nearby Balata refugee camp after midnight when a number of Israeli army jeeps rolled into the area and withdrew before the morning.
A raid also took place in another West Bank city of Hebron where at least a 17-year-old boy was arrested from his house, according to the sources.
Israeli media quoted military sources as saying that some 21 Palestinians were arrested in the West Bank, adding the detainees were taken for interrogation.
In northern Gaza Strip, where the Israeli army has been operating since Monday morning, some 40 Palestinians were arrested and transferred into Israel for interrogation, said the Israeli sources.
Seven Palestinians were killed in the Israeli operation which targets Beit Hanoun town in northern Gaza Strip on Monday, according to media reports.
