The leadership of the party, which waged a decisive armed struggle against monarchy for ten years (1996-2006), also order the devolution of private and governmental properties confiscated during the armed conflict.

Those were two key conditions set by other Nepalese parties to create a republican government of national consensus under Maoist leadership.

In statements to reporters, CPN-M President Pushpa Kamal Dahal noted that the organization issued those guidelines to contribute effectively to the implementation of a seven-item agreement signed by the country’s major political organizations.

The Maoist party won the constituent elections in April and, according to the agreement, it must lead the future coalition government, but differences, disputes and clashes of interests have prevented the organization from achieving its goal.

Dahal added in a communiqué that he expected the Peace and Reconstruction Ministry to pay compensations to Maoist combatants who live in settlements and to allocate aid for the victims of the armed conflict.

He noted the need to create an atmosphere of confidence to implement the agreements that will lead to the creation of the new government.
